Bring Your Car To Us

What To Do On Arrival
  • When you are ready to dispose of your vehicle, bring it to us and either place it on the weighbridge or park it in one of the designated customer parking bays before reporting to reception.
  • Reception is located up the metal stairs at the front of the weighbridge building and is clearly marked.
Legal requirements

Please ensure you bring the following documents and details:

  • Photo driving licence
  • Vehicle Logbook (V5C)
  • Bank details
Car Towing

Unfortunately, we do not offer towing or vehicle loading services. If your car is non-operational and you are unable to transport it to us, please visit cartakeback.com for assistance.

Payment

DVLA Notification and payment
  • DVLA Notification: As an approved disposer, we’ll notify the DVLA that your vehicle has been destroyed and remove it from the register. You’ll receive a Certificate of Destruction by post or email.
  • Payment: If your vehicle is received before 4pm, payment is made the same day. If received after 4pm or on a Saturday, payment is made the next working day.
Price fluctuations

The price we pay for a car is based on the current metal pricing, which fluctuates with market conditions. For today’s price, please give us a call.

we don’t sell spare parts

Please note that we do not break cars for spares or parts, nor do we sell spare parts to the public. For spare part requirements, we recommend contacting car-breaking businesses in and around Edinburgh.

While we take almost anything made of metal, there are a few exclusions for safety reasons. We encourage you to dispose of these items responsibly.
